About María Kent

Welcome to my world of drawings and colour!

I am Maria Kent, designer and illustrator. I was born in Uruguay and after living in many places and countries around the world, I’ve settled with my family in Santander, a beautiful city in the North of Spain, surrounded on one side by the sea and on the other by mountains.

My scarves

‘Tired of being the accessory of society’. That’s how it all started. With the #metoo movement, a terrible case called ‘La Manada’ in Spain, where the feminist movement in Spain finally started to claim equal laws and equal opportunities for women, made me look for something really feminine.

Is there anything more feminine than a red lipstick? Yes: A scarf! Scarves have been used by women since ancient times, women of all ages, from all religions, cultures and geographical regions.

So with all of this in mind, my little universe of drawings found their way out of the sketch book transformed into beautiful and bold patterns printed into scarves.

The whole process of design is made by me. Then they are digitally printed in 100% silk, with water based inks, certified as class I by OEKO-TEX. All the process is done in Spain.

Audrey Hepburn said “When I wear a silk scarf I never feel so definitely like a woman, a beautiful woman.” Be feminine, be unique and proud of being a woman!
